A little history
Known as Montsauches as early as 1285, the fief of Saulce was part of the comté of Château-Chinon. Bailliage of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier. As for the parish of Saint-Barthélémy, it came under the abbey of Saulieu. Originally, it was divided into two collectes, one of which came under the élection of Château-Chinon and the other under the élection of Nevers (généralité of Moulin).
