A little history
In 1252, Guillaume Amanieu, seigneur de Calviac (at Monflanquin), ceded the mountain of Monflanquin to Alphonse de Poitiers. The latter founded a bastide there in the 13th century. In the current state of our knowledge, everything leads one to think that the mountain of Monflanquin was ceded to Alphonse de Poitiers without paréage. In 1256, Alphonse de Poitiers began the founding of the bastide.
