A little history
In the Early Middle Ages, the silver-bearing lead mines of Melle were worked for the benefit of the Frankish kings. The commune is the home of the Mines d'argent des Rois Francs. There is an on-site museum. The commune was created on 1 January 2019 by a prefectoral order dated 27 June 2018.
