A little history
Soultrait, in his archaeological directory of the département de la Nièvre, notes the presence of a Roman road in the commune as well as several ancient fragments, flanged tiles and a Roman tomb. He does not, however, give the location of these various objects. The land of Marzy belonged to Jérôme, bishop of Nevers from around 795 to 815. It was the cathedral chapter that managed the parish as well as the construction of its church in the 12th century. It was during this same period that the current chapels of Saint-Martin and Saint-Baudière were built.
