A little history
"Medenta Villa" was originally a rural village inhabited from the 5th century onwards, as archaeological excavations have revealed. Traditionally, the wine growers, farmers and millers of "Mantelaville" supplied not only their neighbours in "Mante", but also Paris and Normandy. Transport was carried out via the Seine, which was the fastest route of communication at that time. Under the Ancien Régime, Mantes was a staging post for stagecoaches on the Caen-Paris road.
