Luc-la-Primaube (Luc-La Primalba in Occitan) is a French commune in Aveyron, in the Occitanie region. It is situated around ten kilometres to the south-west of Rodez, the prefecture of Aveyron. Its inhabitants are known as the Lucois or the Primaubois.
A little history
In former times, Luc was the dominant town of the commune, which explains why the town hall of Luc-la-Primaube is located in Luc. The ordinance of 25 August 1829 enlarged the communal territory, and so Luc, la Capelle Saint-Martin, Calzins, la Boissonnade and Ruols came to form a single administrative unit. The prieuré Saint-Maurice was given to the chapter of Rodez in 1408 by the antipope Benoît XIII. In 1744, the intendant of Montauban, Charles Lescalopier, had a great road built linking Toulouse to Millau. It passed through a deserted crossroads area which, on the cadastral maps, was named l'Étoile.
