Lexy is a French commune situated in the département of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the Grand Est region.
A little history
A few traces of Gallo-Roman occupation of the site have been found. The territory of the present commune changed hands on numerous occasions throughout history, it was for a long time part of the comté de Bar and it was only at the time of the attachment of the duché de Lorraine to France in 1766 that Lexy definitively became French. The region was the theatre of several battles at the beginning of the First World War. On 22 August 1914 the bataille de Lexy took place, the memory of which is marked by the military ossuary. The commune was awarded the Croix de guerre 1914-1918 on 5 February 1921.
