A little history
The site was occupied from prehistoric times. A megalithic burial (allée couverte) dating from 3,000 years BC was discovered there at the end of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 2nd century BC, Gaulish populations (Carnutes) settled to the north of the Seine, on the Meulan side, on the Île-Belle. A full settlement then extended as far as Les Mureaux.
