A little history
Le Pecq is situated on the hillside dominating the obligatory crossing point over the Seine on the main road leading from Paris to Normandy via Poissy and Pontoise (the former nationale 13 which passed through the town of Saint-Germain, whose château protected access to it). Its slopes, well exposed to the south-east, were planted with vineyards. The last Merovingian kings had a royal residence at the abbaye d'Aupec (Le Pecq). Childebert III gave to the monks of this abbey, in 704, the land of Aupec and its dependencies.
