A little history
The region of Le Grand-Pressigny is rich in Turonian flint of very high quality, available in the form of large slabs. This flint was exploited throughout Prehistory but particularly at the end of the Neolithic period. Archaeological sites are numerous in the commune and its surroundings. Le Grand-Pressigny gave its name in particular to the Pressignian industry.
