A little history
At the beginning of the 19th century, after a period during which the mayors' residences served as the base for municipal functions, the commune of Le Fenouiller undertook the construction of a dedicated building. The latter, subject to the vagaries of administrative responsibilities, demographic growth and the diversification of municipal services, underwent several significant transformations over the decades. In 1849, when the population stood at 780 inhabitants, the commune opened its first communal school.
