A little history
From late October 1939 to August 1940, La Ferrière-aux-Étangs took in refugees from Volmerange-les-Mines and Ottange, villages in the Moselle area situated between the Maginot Line and the Luxembourg border. The men were assigned to the local mines and housed at le Gué-Plat.
