A little history
This village in the former duchy of Lorraine came under the fief, the prévôté, the châtellenie and the bailliage of Nancy. The bataille de Nancy, which on Sunday 5 January 1477 pitted the armies of the duc de Lorraine against Charles le Téméraire, took place in part on the territory of the commune. It was behind the bois de Jarville that the Lorraine and Swiss army halted, and that duc René held council with the principal captains regarding the order of battle.
