A little history
Homécourt is mentioned in writings from the 12th century onwards. Under the name Wucourt or Vuecourt in 1132, Hameicourt in 1260, Haulmécourt in 1301, Honecourt in 1658 and then Haumecourt in 1831, before arriving at its current form of Homécourt, used since 1850. Nevertheless, archaeological discoveries attest to the occupation of the land as early as the 1st century. In 1880, in a quarry in operation, at the lieu-dit Grande Fin, Merovingian burials were uncovered.
