A little history
The royal châtellenie of Gournay constituted an important fief on which la Queue-en-Brie depended. The king entrusted it to the Montlhéry-Rochefort. In the 11th century, Gui Ier and his wife Hodierne de Gometz, founders of the prieuré de Longpont in 1031, had as their son Guy le Rouge (c. 1055–1108), sénéchal de France and sire de Gournay, where he founded a priory (prieuré Notre-Dame) at the very beginning of the 12th century (c. 1100).
