A little history
Prehistoric remains were found in the 19th century, including an elephant tusk and bones. Human occupation is ancient. A dolmen or standing stone in the plantier de Roffit was mentioned by Corlieu under the name of Tombeau du Bourguignon. No trace of it remains. Near Roffit, in the village des Blanchards, burials were discovered in a sand pit, along with tegulae and Samian ware.
