A little history
The communes of Fretigney and Velloreille-lès-Fretigney, created in 1793, were merged by a decree of 9 September 1806, forming Fretigney-et-Velloreille. Velloreille-lès-Fretigney had at that time 83 inhabitants, principally peasants and agricultural workers.
