A little history
The territory where Écully would later be established, originally covered by an immense forest, was in prehistoric times a place of, if not prolonged habitation, at least passage by human beings. Indeed, during the digging of a trench in 1860 for the opening of the chemin des Tilleuls, a silo filled with ashes and calcined human bones was discovered, along with, nearby, several polished stone axes, fragments of pottery and a stone hollowed out in the shape of a basin or mortar. Flint tools were found in the bois de Serres.
