A little history
A deposit of objects dated to the final Bronze Age was discovered at Créon in 1875. This deposit contained notably socketed axes (with and without a ring), a flanged axe as well as bronze ingots. Since 1152, through the marriage of Aliénor d'Aquitaine to Henri Plantagenêt, Aquitaine was attached to the English crown. In 1315, France was governed by King Louis X, and Aquitaine by a duke, who happened to be King Édouard II of England, his own brother-in-law, husband of his sister Isabelle.
