A little history
The village of Tourteron, in the direction of Saint-Pompain, was known during the Merovingian period for its mint. The first mention of Coulonges does not appear until 978, where reference is made to a villa Ecolonii. A simple agricultural estate inherited from Antiquity, this farm may have been at the origin of the establishment of a community of inhabitants. A century later, the settlement of Colongia took shape around its church and its castle.
