A little history
The site of Corbie has been occupied by humans since Prehistory. Abundant flint tools from the Palaeolithic period are found at the lieu-dit Les Genets (Les Falaises). In 1997, at the lieu-dit Les Fourneaux, situated between the road leading to Querrieu and the road leading to Lahoussoye, animal bones dating back 150,000 years were discovered. In 2012, archaeological excavations uncovered grey forest soils (sol de Bettencourt) from the beginning of the last glacial period, between 110,000 and 68,000 years ago, the Weichsélien (~115,000 - ~10,000 before present).
