A little history
Some historians make the existence of Condrieu date back to the 3rd century before our era. The viticultural vocation of the region was already known in the time of Pline, even if the composition and taste of the wines were doubtless very different from what they are today. In the 11th century, in addition to the production and trade of white wine, there were boating activities and the industrial manufacture of fabrics and embroideries. The town was fortified and surrounded by walls at the end of the 12th century by Renaud de Forez, Archbishop of Lyon.
