Choisy would appear for the first time in history when the army of Caesar in 52 BC, led by the commander Labienus, is said to have done battle on the present-day territory of the commune. Its name is thought to derive from Sociacum, meaning villa de Soisus or from Socius. Choisy has only been known since 1176, as forming part of the seigneurie de Thiais, which belonged to the abbaye de Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
