A little history
In the Middle Ages, the village of Charenton-le-Pont formed part, along with Conflans, Bercy and the seigneurie de la Grange aux Merciers, of the parish of Conflans, whose église Saint-Pierre, demolished in 1867, stood on the site of the present-day rue du Séminaire de Conflans, at the corner of the rue du Président-Kennedy. This parish, which stretched from the pont de Charenton as far as Bercy at the boundary with the vast parish of Saint-Paul de Paris fixed at the ru de Montreuil, was attached in the Middle Ages to the abbaye de Saint-Martin-des-Champs in Paris following a donation by the Bishop of Paris in 1098, confirmed by papal bulls in the twelfth century. In 865, the Vikings seized the bridge and broke it.

Buying in Charenton-le-Pont
Reading the €6,351 to €8,467 band is a buyer’s main tool in Charenton-le-Pont. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.
A stable market usually means a negotiation decided by the property itself rather than by any general trend.
Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.
