A little history
1224, foundation of the abbaye de Joyenval. 1346, the abbaye de Joyenval and the château de Montjoie were pillaged by the English forces of Edouard III. From 1686 to 1786, the aqueduc de Retz was built. 1789, creation of the désert de Retz, a romantic garden comprising numerous follies, including the colonne détruite, the pyramide, and the pavillon chinois. 1934, foundation of the ALB dairy, which launched in 1948 the petit Chambourcy, a petit-suisse.
