The new commune of Chabanière, created on 1st January 2017 following the prefectoral order of 5th October 2016, brings together the communes of Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie, Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire and Saint-Sorlin, which become delegated communes. Its administrative centre is located at Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire. Saint-Didier-sous-Riverie, Saint-Maurice-sur-Dargoire and Saint-Sorlin retain in particular civil registration and the issuing of planning opinions.
