A little history
The bishop Guillaume de Champagne transferred the status of parish to the église Saint-Martin de Cesson when he authorised the creation of a priory at Saint-Leu in 1176. In 1285, the comte Guillaume de Cesson and his wife donated one of their minor fiefs to the Benedictines of Saint-Père de Melun. The Ancien Régime does not appear to have left a lasting mark on the village and its hamlets of Saint-Leu and Verneau. In 1720, Jean-Baptiste Plucq, baron de Saint-Port, acquired the lands of Pouilly from the family de Vaudetar, which had held them for 420 years.
