A little history
Around 1050, the seigneury of Castro-Novo was created. In 1108, the château de Castel-Nau was built by Roland de Castro-Novo. It would belong to several great families, Puy-Paulin, Bordeaux, Grely (Grailly), Foix de Candale, d'Epernon, until the 17th century when it was bought back by messire d'Essenault seigneur d'Issan. Also in 1108, the chapelle Jacobi de Castro-Novo was built not far from the château.
