A little history
Originally, Camblanes bore the name Camplanis. The site has been occupied since Antiquity, and Roman remains have been found near the current église Sainte-Eulalie, including a mosaic. History tells that a Roman wine grower had his villa built on the territory of the commune, which was then entirely covered with vines, and carried on a trade in wine. He had his barrels brought down to the lieu-dit Port-Neuf, on the banks of the Garonne, from where his boats departed. In 1649, during the Fronde, the troops of the duc d'Épernon attacked the village.
