Bubry [bybʁi] is a French commune, situated in the Morbihan department in the Bretagne region.
A little history
The existence of populations in the region is attested from the Neolithic period and the Iron Age, as suggested by the Christianised lec'h on the square by the church. The commune lies on the route of the Roman road linking Rennes to Quimper, and on that of an even older road linking Carhaix to Locmariaquer. During the clearing of a heath at Botcalper in 1974, a stamped copper ingot from the Roman period was discovered. Its origin appears to be Wales, which bears witness to the export of this metal to the Armorican regions that were poor in copper.
