A little history
As a concession intended for the cultivation of coffee, the lieu-dit Bras Panon did not appear until 1725. In the middle of the 19th century, the quartier that had formed there was administratively attached to Saint-Benoît. It separated from it by becoming a commune on 24 February 1882, incorporating the territory situated between the rivière du Mât and the rivière des Roches. Originally, the boundary between the commune of St-André and that of St-Benoît was at the level of the rivière du Mât and not the rue des Limites (see the map).
