In May 2026, major preventive excavations revealed a near-continuous human occupation spanning 6,000 years at Boves. Archaeologists uncovered an exceptional archaeological complex comprising a pit dating from the Bronze Age, the foundations of a large Gallo-Roman villa, ancient kilns and several burials dating from the medieval period, illustrating the evolution of the landscape and habitat across the territory of the commune. Flint tools and large sandstone stones were found on the territory of the commune, perhaps the remains of dolmens or menhirs. Roman-era coins were discovered on the territory of Boves.
