It is part of the Agglomération d'Agen community of agglomeration, an intermunicipal structure of 102,673 inhabitants in 2023, and of the aire d'attraction d'Agen.
A little history
Bon-Encontre is built on the remains of a Gallo-Roman settlement. In 1997, significant remains of a Gallo-Roman villa were uncovered. This villa, dating from the 1st century and whose original name is unknown, has the remarkable distinction of having undergone no modifications whatsoever, and its original layout has remained intact. The wall renderings in particular date from that period, whilst the mosaics appear to date from the 4th century.
