Bogny-sur-Meuse is a French commune, situated in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region. Formed from the merger of the communes of Château-Regnault-Bogny, Braux and Levrézy on 1st January 1967, Bogny-sur-Meuse is known for its sites connected to the medieval legend of the quatre fils Aymon, such as the Hermitage, the statue of the horse Bayard and the four peaks symbolising the four brothers.
A little history
Bogny-sur-Meuse is the result of the merger of three villages, Château-Regnault-Bogny, Braux and Levrézy. This merger took place in 1967. On the current site of the monument by Albert Poncin depicting the horse Bayard, and its roots in this territory, stood the fortress of Château-Regnault. At the time of the erection of the monument in 1933, a number of finds were made, including coins, swords, arrowheads, crockery and some animal bones.
