A little history
Blainville-sur-l'Eau was once a sizeable market town and the chief town of a marquisate. It was built by a lord by the name of Blida who lived in the 12th century, and its parish was given to the abbey of Belchamps by Erard, lord of Vendières, in 1292. This village is mentioned in a deed of 1157 relating to that abbey, where it is named "allodium de Bulinville". In 1338, Raoul, Duke of Lorraine, ceded to Burnekins de Ristes, in exchange for what the latter held at Lunéville, the fortified towns, houses, moats, enclosures, barns, and men and women of Blainville and its dependencies. Subsequently, this land returned to the domain of the Dukes of Lorraine.
