A little history
The destruction of megaliths was significant in the past. Félix Gaillard wrote, for example, in 1892 that the destructions reported in the canton of Belz did not go back very far and that the monuments destroyed had been seen in place by the author, meaning their destruction did not exceed some thirty years. He also noted that in a more distant past a large gallery dolmen had existed at Kernours, and that its stones were used in the construction of the windmill at Kernours. He listed and described 15 megalithic monuments that still survived at that time in the commune.
