A little history
Officially, Baraqueville was born on 1 January 1973, from the merger of the former communes of Carcenac-Peyralès and Vors. On 4 August of the same year, the new canton of Baraqueville-Sauveterre appeared for the first time. Before 1810, little or nothing. From the Roman era, the fontaine de Vors (709 m altitude) is noteworthy, supplying Rodez with water through an ingenious aqueduct system 30 km in length, first underground and then above ground.
