A little history
The existence of populations in the region is attested from the Neolithic period, as suggested by the tumulus de Tumiac, the dolmen du Graniol, the double cromlech d'Er Lannic and the cairn de Petit Mont, all of which are found on the territory of the commune of Arzon. An iron hammer-heel axe, dated to around 500 AD, was found within the rectangular enclosure of Bilgroix, also known as the Dolmen de la pointe de Bilgroix at Arzon. In 836, Arzon appears in the cartulary of Redon, which records the donation by the Frankish king Louis-le-Pieux to the Breton Conwoïon, abbot of Redon, of the parish of Arzon.
