A little history
A tumulus situated at Saint-Galles was excavated in 1854 by René Galles, the owner of the land on which it stood. A jadéite axe, originating from Arradon, donated by Louis Galles, is held at the musée d'histoire et d'archéologie de Vannes, as are various objects from the excavation of the dolmen d'Er Roh. The dolmen de Kerhenry, in ruins, dates from the Neolithic period and was also explored by Louis Galles. A low lec'h that had stood in the former cemetery of Arradon, deconsecrated at the end of the 19th century, and which lay, almost forgotten, half buried in a corner of that former cemetery, was donated to the musée d'histoire et d'archéologie de Vannes around 1924.
