Aigueperse is a French commune situated in the département of Puy-de-Dôme, in the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The town is situated to the north of the Limagne and was during the Renaissance the capital of a small autonomous principality, the principauté de Montpensier. The latter was subsequently incorporated into the province of Bourbonnais.
A little history
A settlement established in the 3rd century BC and abandoned during the 1st century BC, interpreted as Latènian, was discovered in the commune. It was reoccupied in the second half of the 1st century BC.
