Aigondigné is a new French commune located in the département of Deux-Sèvres, in the région of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It was created on 1 January 2019 by the merger of Mougon-Thorigné, Aigonnay and Sainte-Blandine.
A little history
On 1 January 2017, the communes of Mougon and Thorigné merged to form the new commune of Mougon-Thorigné, with Mougon becoming the chief town. The two former communes became delegated communes. Two years later, Mougon-Thorigné, Aigonnay and Sainte-Blandine in turn merged. The new commune of Aigondigné was created by prefectural order on 13 November 2018, with effect from 1 January 2019.
