A little history
The seigneury of Vinezac was in the hands of the Jullien de Vinezac family from 1256 (the date at which Aymard de Jullien and Pierre de Laundun jointly purchased the seigneury from the Bishop of Viviers, Hugues de la Tour) to 1348 (the date at which the seigneury was brought as a dowry to the marriage of Aigline de Jullien with Béranger de Loubaresse), then from 1644 (the date of the marriage of Louis de Jullien with Marie de Charbonnel de Chauzon, Dame de Vinezac) to the French Revolution. The Jullien de Vinezac family resided in their château of the same name. Joseph-Xavier de Jullien de Vinezac is one of its best-known members. In 1834, the vine occupied 48% of the commune's territory.
