Val-Revermont is a new commune situated in the département of Ain in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It was created on 1 January 2016 from the merger of the two communes, Treffort-Cuisiat and Pressiat.
A little history
Like other villages in the Revermont, Cuisiat fell victim to Nazi barbarity on 18 July 1944. Several inhabitants were deported, and part of the village was burnt by the troops of the Reich in reprisal for acts of resistance committed in the region. Three events marked the history of the village. In 1370, Hugues d'Andelot had a new château built in this region, which had been ruined by endemic wars that had raged here during the 13th and 14th centuries. The town built around the château took the name of Pressiat.
