A little history
In the 14th century, a bastide called Tocane was founded between the villages of Sainte-Marie de Perdus and Saint-Apre de Perdus. The oldest text citing this bastide dates from 1309. A text from 1285 indicates that the comtes de Périgord decided to establish bastides in their comté. It did not develop, but from the 15th century onwards, the name Tocane replaced that of Sainte-Marie de Perdus.
