Taissy is a French commune situated in the Marne department, in the Grand Est region. Its inhabitants are known as the Taissotin(e)s.
A little history
The site of Taissy was already inhabited during the Gaulish period, from the Iron Age onwards (-450), and traces of a cemetery followed by dwellings have been found. During the Gallo-Roman period, villas show that the cultivation of fields and vines was practised. Subsequently, documents dating from saint Remi demonstrate that the land was prosperous and that wine and cereals were harvested there in abundance. The Hundred Years' War saw the area ravaged and burned.
