Seyssins, the town

Seyssins covers 8 km², lies between 219 and 1,897 m above sea level and had 8,092 inhabitants in the 2023 census.

Seyssins is a French commune situated in the département of Isère, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The commune, which is located in the urban area of Grenoble, is a member of the Grenoble-Alpes Métropole. Its inhabitants are known as the Seyssinois(es).

A little history

Seyssins was, until relatively recently, a small village nestled against the last foothills of the Vercors massif, sheltered from the devastating floods of the Drac, a tributary of the Isère. The village only underwent expansion at the level of the plain after the embankment of this significant alpine torrent (in the 17th century) with the construction of a dyke. In 1753, the village and the Grenoble region experienced the first earthquake of which history has kept a record. Between 1790 and 1794, the commune of Seyssins absorbed the short-lived communes of Mont-Rigaud and Roux-de-Commiers.

Selling in Seyssins

Pricing in Seyssins starts by placing your property inside the €2,576 to €3,786 band rather than on the median alone. The median describes the middle of the market; condition, floor, outdoor space and energy rating decide where in the band you sit.

With 83 sales a year, Seyssins is regular without being deep. Positioning matters more here than in a dense market, because a buyer who steps back is not immediately replaced.

Briveo values your Seyssins property from the same DVF file, keeping only sales of comparable properties closest to your address, free of charge and with no obligation, then supports the sale through to the deed.

Buying in Seyssins

Reading the €2,576 to €3,786 band is a buyer’s main tool in Seyssins. A property at the bottom is not a bargain and one at the top is not a rip-off, the band measures how different the properties are, not how well they are priced.

Acquisition costs are budgeted on top of the price, around 8 % on an existing property, around 3 % on a new one. These are orders of magnitude; the notary computes the exact amount.

A stable market usually means a negotiation decided by the property itself rather than by any general trend.

How the Seyssins market is moving

Over the last twelve published months the median apartment price moved by -0.5 %. That amounts to stability. Stability is the most common state of a local market, and it means sellers and buyers agree on price levels.

No five-year reading is available for Seyssins. The apartment sales we currently use (2023 à 2025) do not go back far enough to compute one, so the long-term direction cannot be stated here.

Among the towns tracked by BRIVEO in the same department, on the median apartment price, Échirolles sits 42 % below and Les Deux Alpes 70 % above. Those are the gaps a buyer widening their search area actually meets.
