A little history
The current territory of the commune has been occupied by humans since the earliest Antiquity and more particularly since the first Iron Age. [Contradictory passage] The origins of the village of Sainte-Livrade d'Olt date back to the Gallo-Roman period and it was erected as a bastide in the year 1289. The Occitan name Santa Liurada disappeared, after the conquest of Occitania by the Albigensian Crusade, through the application of the edict of 1539 which imposed French. Thus Santa Liurada became Sainte-Livrade-d'Agenais or Sainte-Livrade.
