A little history
The existence of the village of Tour is recorded in 1099 when Raoul Deliès, comte de Pontoise, gave his rights over this village as well as the neighbouring village known as Métiger to the abbaye Saint-Martin-des-Champs. The village had only 40 inhabitants in 1470 and was at that time under the lordship of the Montmorency family, who founded a priory in the forêt de Montmorency in the 12th century. This priory was converted into a hunting lodge in 1460 and received a visit from Louis XI. During the French Revolution, the commune took the name of Bellevue-la-Forêt.
