A little history
During the construction of a housing estate at les Petits Ormes in 2005, excavations uncovered a villa and around 4,000 archaeological structures. The remains span the final Neolithic, final Bronze Age, the Late Empire and the early Middle Ages through to the modern period. Saint-Pathus takes its name from a priest of renowned virtuous life who was appointed bishop of Meaux in 684 and died on the day of his election. The task to be undertaken seemed too great a burden to him and he did not wish for this honour.
