A little history
Saint-Parres is situated two kilometres from Troyes, on the top of the hill known as Mont-des-Idoles, where saint Parres, a noble citizen of Troyes, suffered martyrdom in the year 275. It was in the place where he was buried that the archpriest Eusèbe, once the persecution had ceased, had a chapel built, which later became a parish under the patronage of saint Patrocle. The current church was built around the early years of the 16th century. The comtal and then royal authority had a town hall in the village. The first known lord was Ithier de Flacy in 1172 and he appeared formerly to hold it from the fief of Chappes.
